Orientation Day 1

  • My first day of orientation went better than expected.  I had been trained on a ten speed transmission and May uses thirteen speed. My tester knew that, so he just had me shift as an eight speed, basic H pattern, four low and four high. While in high range the four gears can be split, which would be eight in high range, 8+4 add granny gear makes 13 speed. It was so easy to drive compared to the old International I trained on. I was the first one to take the road test and passed, everthing went really smooth. The next thing we did was the skills test, basicly it is an obstacle course of tight real world situations that you will see while out there driving. I feel really good about my performance, I didn't hit any cones, I backed into all the space they had setup. The course was setup so tight if you were off by more than six inches or so on the lupe part, you would have hit a cone.
  • Not sure what we will do tomorrow, I think class room, let you know tomorrow.
